Merry Christmas 2020
Dear St John Family and Friends
Unto Us a Child is Born
Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to the saints of the St John Baptist Church of Alexandria, Virginia, and our friends. As we witness the end of another season and the dawning of a new one let us take the time to reflect and appreciate how the power and love of God has sustained us through this pandemic season of uncertainties and unexpected challenges. Through the grace and mercy of a loving God He’s allowed us to be partakers of another holiday celebration with our families and friends, and for this, we are so thankful! This is also a time to remember our love ones who have gone home to be with the Lord and have transition from earthly labor to heavenly rewards. Let us remember with fondness all the memories of the good times we shared when they were among us.
The challenges of this year tested our faith and our resolve and as a result made us even more committed and resilient for the journey that lies ahead. Through it all, we must remember that God is still on the throne and that we are kept by His power, not by our own self-righteousness. Even though the events of this season may have caught us by surprise, they did not catch God by surprise. He has a plan for us. If we just trust and obey Him, surrender our will to Him and follow His guidance everything will work out for our good.
The Hall family wants to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a blessed Christmas holiday season. As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, it is our sincere prayer that each of us will take the time to reflect and experience why this holiday is so important to our Christian faith. For God, the Father loved us so much that He sent His only Son into the world to be a sacrifice for our sins. There is no greater gift that anyone could give than the gift of one’s only child. The celebration of the birth of Jesus is therefore a celebration of the infinite love of our Heavenly Father. During this season let us share the love of God with everyone that God brings into our lives.
As each of us enjoy the blessings of God during this season please continue to be mindful of our brothers and sisters here in the United States as well as our friends in Haiti and West Indies and other places all around the world who lack those things that we sometime take for granted. Let us cherish and celebrate the things that really matter; God, family, friends, and the service that we render to the Kingdom of God. Having the honor to serve as your Pastor and First Lady is a precious and priceless gift from God. Please know that the Hall family loves you and is praying for God’s favor and blessings for you and your family as you celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.
